Rest easy Brandon Spikes, you are no longer the dirtiest player in the NCAA. Introducing the dirtiest athlete since Hines Wards, Elizabeth Lambert. Last night during the semi-finals of the Mountain West Conference Women’s Soccer between the New Mexico Lobos and the BYU Cougars, Lambert got a little extra curricular on more than one occasion. Now, I did not watch the whole match, so I can’t be sure of what exactly provoked her. What I can be sure of is that the referees are pretty much blind. This is the most unacceptable thing I have seen in sports in a long time. Let’s all just rest easy knowing that Urban Meyer won’t be giving out the punishment…

The University of New Mexico head coach Kit Vela has suspended Elizabeth Lambert idefinitely. She is, effective immediately, prohibited from participating in ALL team functions. Full story and her apology here.

A psychiatric evaluation is in order here, this girl is a poor sport and an embarrassment to soccer, she should still be facing assault charges, this should be punishable by law, since the referees turned a blind eye. PRESS CHARGES AGAINST THIS BULLY!!

wow, this is totally uncalled for! There is nothing that happened on that field that would make this psychos behavior justified. I am in the medical field and she could have paralyzed that girl or worse. I wouldn't let this loose cannon warm my teams bench.

If anybody is to blame , it's the Ref's. She should of Red Carded her after the first incident. But to let it go on, the ref's need to be fired and the player and coach heavily disciplined.

what can i say that hasnt been said? her parents are to blame here. no doubt they are as classless as she. what does this say about the university of new mexico? well, obviously this is bad for the school, and anyone can logically deduce from this that everyone at UNM is retarded. She should be expelled and jailed. Her parents should be ostracized. Everyone that goes to that school should reconsider.

there is no way that this girl just woke up one game and started playing like that- she has taken bullying to an art form. The refs were asleep at the switch but where has her coach been? what about team members? anger management anyone???
