Erin Andrews Violated

July 20, 2009

Well, the world of giant flabby douche bags grew by at least one this weekend. This yet-to-be-named piece of shit found it necessary to violate ESPN sideline reporter/my soul mate Erin Andrews by video taping her in the privacy of her hotel room. Erin Andrews is gorgeous (duh), but the best thing about her is the fact that she is cool as hell. EA loves the sports blogs and we love her. Plus she knows herself some sports! We here at Thunder Treats call that the perfect package. EA has taken legal action threatening a lawsuit against the maker. She has authorized her attorney, Marshall B. Grossman of Bingham McCutchen LLP, to issue the following statement regarding these events:

“While alone in the privacy of her hotel room, Erin Andrews was surreptitiously videotaped without her knowledge or consent. She was the victim of a crime and is taking action to protect herself and help ensure that others are not similarly violated in the future. Although the perpetrator or perpetrators of this criminal act have not yet been identified, when they are identified she intends to bring both civil and criminal charges against them and against anyone who has published the material. We request respect of Erin’s privacy at this time, while she and her representatives are working with the authorities.”

ESPN has shown that they also have EA’s back and have issued a statement as well:

“Erin has been grievously wronged here. Our people and resources are in full support of her as she deals with this abhorrent act.”

Obviously, EA is the last person we want to see hurt by someone else’s idiotic actions, but we think EA will come out on top of this one. I have not seen this video, but have heard that EA has nothing to be ashamed of. Following Awful Announcing, we will not be linking to the video. I encourage all bloggers and commenters to do the same. We got your back too, Erin.

**UPDATE** MSNBC is reporting that numerous websites claiming to have the Erin Andrews footage actually providing malicious malware and viruses. Click here for the full article.

NCAA 10 vs. MLB Allstar Game

July 14, 2009

Click here for More Photos from IGN.com

Tonite is the MLB All Star game. Today is the release of EA Sports NCAA 10. I can’t really explain how much more I am pumped for the latter than the former. The MLB All Star game is, in most cases, boring. It drags on and no one is in the game long enough to make a major impact. I can’t tell you the last time I watched more than 3 consecutive innings of an All Star game. EA Sports NCAA Football franchise is another story. I have bought the new game every year since 2002 and have never been let down. They introduce something new every year and the graphics just keep getting better. This year’s edition will include a revamped Road to Glory mode that will include none other than ESPN’s resident smoke face: Erin Andrews-DiLo. She will give the user updated stats analysis throughout their college career. So which will you be doing? Will you be engaging in eye glazing baseball or will you be on the sticks getting after EA (by EA I don’t mean Electronic Arts)? It is safe for me to say that the MLB has no shot at getting my attention tonite.
